Travelling is good for your health

It is a well accepted fact that travel has a rejuvenating effect on the body. For many years people have been longing to explore the far reaches of the world to see different cultures and sight. It’s something that every hard working person longs for.

A vacation has the ability to de-stress, wind-down and regain your energy, your motivation and your inner drive. It helps to build positive thought and enthusiasm, and give us memories that can last a lifetime.

So what are some of these benefits?

Romance
People that travel as a couple, who are in a relationship, find that the experience of travelling together cements their bond and leads to a happier and even healthier relationship, is a romantic experience, and help with good communication.

De-Stress
A new environment, new experiences, such as food, drink and cultures is known to relieve stress and tension. It get’s you away from the daily grind, the regular routine, gives you something different to think about and plan for. Kills Boredom
Getting out of doors, breathing fresh air and having new experiences is great therapy. Breaking habits and routines even for just a few days can be as good as getting an extra nights sleep.

Fill your lungs with fresh air and get some vitamin D from the sun on your skin (taking the necessary precautions of course), get back to nature and enjoy the countryside. Just thinking about it is calming too.

Get Fit
Usually a vacation means walking, swimming, maybe even dancing and always sight seeing. Even a beach holiday could involve volley ball or snorkelling. A holiday means exercise, physical activity that you normally miss out on. Sitting at a desk all day is not good for your health, so a vacation breaks you out of the routine and improves your health.

New Experiences
A vacation, especially in foreign countries, forces you to try new foods, experience new flavours, eat out in restaurants and beach bars, trying new drinks and snacks. Forget microwave food and frozen dinner, and think fresh ingredients, local cuisine and excellent service.

Dig in to the culture
Meeting people from other countries and cultures is a great way to understand the world, and appreciate our own lives. Learning to appreciate how other people live and work is an experience that is hard to put a price on.
